kelly & dave are married!

6.26.09 (Weddings)

When Kelly and Dave showed up at my door for their first appointment I thought "I've seen this girl somewhere before... I just don't know where". Throughout the whole meeting it was driving me insane because I knew that I knew her from somewhere, but I couldn't figure out where. In talking more with her, I learned that she is from my same hometown in California (some 2,000 miles away from MI) and went to my high school, although not until a year after I graduated. Eventually we figured it out: she was friends with my best friends little sister, which meant that I likely remembered her from playing at their house when I was about 10 years old! I just think it's amazing how the memory of a face can stay somewhere hidden away in one's mind for over 20 years!

Anyway, Kelly and Dave are an extremely fun-loving and sentimental couple and shooting their wedding was incredibly fun. Their ceremony was at the U of M Student Union and their reception was at Cobblestone Farm. I LOVE when couples have weddings in unique locations and their wedding in a barn is definitely one of my all time favorites!

Planner: You're The Bride
Videographer: Epic Motion
DJ: Mary Ann Ross
Makeup: Bridal Beauty

They chose to see one another before their ceremony. Here's their little "first look" moment...

Pink peonies are my new favorite flower and I loved the clip in her hair!

Another coincidence: one of the bridesmaids was part of a small group that backpacked through Iceland with my husband a few years ago.

The moms had such gorgeous corsages!

And another coincidence: they walked down the aisle to a song from the musical RENT, which just so happens to be my favorite musical (I've seen it 5 times).

When I found this little patch of gorgeous light, I literally jumped up and down with excitement. Seriously, I actually jumped.

They're early contenders for my "most original of 2009" contest!!!!

It's not everyday that there are farm animals at the cocktail hour - how cute is this goat?!?!

Their rings were made to resemble wood - so cool!

Who doesn't love a fiddler?!?!

Congrats, Kelly & Dave! Your creativity was incredible!!!!
